Cosmetic Surgery Orlando

Are you Qualified for Rhinoplasty?

Dr Richard Arabitg - Tuesday, April 28, 2015

If an Orlando cosmetic surgeon believes that a patient is not medically or psychologically suited to a surgery, they may not carry out the procedure for preserving the health and safety of the patient. A total physical examination is also important, to make sure that the patient can withstand the effects of sedation, surgery, and recovery. An anesthesiologist can determine the safety of anesthesia use based on a patient’s lifestyle, health, and medical history. If you suffer from allergies to certain medications or anesthesias, if you have certain heart defects, if you smoke, if you are overweight, or if you are pregnant you may not be a candidate for surgery. It is important for surgeons to protect your health and safety above all else, so a full medical evaluation is necessary. It is also necessary to record the skin type, existing scars, and skin condition of the patient, along with the anatomical structures of the patient’s nose. A surgeon will take note of the angle at which the nose projects out from their face, the location and size of the nasal tissue and bone, the condition of the septum, the nasal valves, the nasal lining, the tip of the nose, and more. Sometimes, tests such as a mirror test or vasoconstriction exams can be performed to evaluate a patient before plastic surgery. The Cottle's maneuver can be performed to detect nasal valve disorders that will need to be corrected to encourage unobstructed breathing.

Just Like Any Surgery, Liposuction has Minor Risks

Dr Richard Arabitg - Tuesday, March 10, 2015

The minor risks of Liposuction may include temporary swelling, soreness, bruising, scarring, or baggy skin. Other risks can include color changes to the skin, or uneven skin surface. More dangerous risks are extremely rare, and should be discussed with an Orlando plastic surgeon. Although liposuction is not a replacement for diet and exercise, it can eliminate stubborn pockets of fat that are making you feel insecure or uncomfortable with your body.

With the availability of new techniques and qualified surgeons, liposuction in Orlando is safer and easier than ever. The benefits of the procedure are achievable immediately following surgery, and are permanent when supplemented with good health and exercise regimens. The lack of necessity for general anesthesia makes the procedure more accessible to people with heart problems, obesity complications, and other health concerns. To find out if liposuction is right for you, contact your plastic surgeon today.

Your Cosmetic Surgeon should make You Feel Comfortable and Safe!

Dr Richard Arabitg - Tuesday, September 23, 2014

It is crucial to be weary of Orlando cosmetic surgeons who push for multiple surgeries, because this increases both their payout and the safety risk. The right surgeon will suggest multiple surgeries only if it is necessary or important for achieving your desired final look. They will not push you to undergo many surgeries, whether they claim that the surgeries are necessary or not. A cosmetic surgeon’s first priority should be making their patient feel comfortable and safe. If disciplinary action has ever been taken out against a surgeon, strongly consider looking into the issue before allowing them to perform surgery on you. Although newer or younger plastic surgeons may not have had as many years of experience as older surgeons, this is not indicative of the quality of procedures they offer. Ask people in your area who have worked with a plastic surgeon how they felt about the experience. The best measure of a cosmetic surgeon’s work is their customer satisfaction level. Choosing a surgeon who is reliable, experienced, friendly, comforting, and knowledgeable should be the first priority of anyone pursuing cosmetic surgery. Although there can be great risks involved with surgical procedures, the chance of these risks occurring is greatly diminished when the surgery is performed by the right person. Following the recommended steps for finding a surgeon can ensure that your cosmetic surgery experience is rewarding, safe, and provides you with results that far surpass your satisfaction. Although the process of choosing a good surgeon can be long and arduous, it is well worth the work.

Plastic Surgery was Once Considered Taboo, but Not Anymore!

Dr Richard Arabitg - Tuesday, July 22, 2014

Although once considered taboo, cosmetic surgery has grown to be one of the most accepted, common, and popular ways of improving physical appearance. The media is constantly bombarded with talks of rhinoplasty, tummy tucks, breast augmentations, facelifts, Botox, and more. In the past, Orlando cosmetic surgery was a privilege considered only for the rich and famous. It was seen as quite controversial and ostentatious, and wasn’t pursued by people outside of the entertainment industry. However, this is no longer the case. Aside from growing in popularity, cosmetic procedures have also become more affordable and accessible. Although cosmetic procedures are not generally covered by insurance, many plastic surgery centers offer affordable payment plans or financial assistance. Cosmetic surgery can be performed in a medical center or private office location, with the number of locations that offer procedures growing every day. However, the increase in number of cosmetic surgery centers may allow customers to become confused or easily manipulated. It is extremely important to go to a knowledgeable, experienced cosmetic surgeon for all procedures.

What to Look for When Choosing a Cosmetic Surgeon

Dr Richard Arabitg - Tuesday, July 22, 2014

The first step to finding a good cosmetic surgeon is looking into their status in regards to board certification. The only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) is the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). If an Orlando cosmetic surgeon is not board certified by the ABPS, they may not be as well-trained and specialized in cosmetic surgery as a surgeon who is. In the medical field, most doctors are able to perform surgical procedures, but this does not mean they are qualified or even have any experience with such procedures. Another important aspect of choosing a surgeon is if they are a member of prestigious plastic surgery societies. If the surgeon has membership with the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), they may be a much better candidate than a surgeon who does not. Membership to ASAPS ensures that a surgeon is both board certified, and has a wealth of experience with cosmetic procedures. ASAPS is an invitation-only society, consisting of the top cosmetic surgeons in the nation.
