Plastic Surgery was Once Considered Taboo, but Not Anymore!

Dr Richard Arabitg - Tuesday, July 22, 2014

Although once considered taboo, cosmetic surgery has grown to be one of the most accepted, common, and popular ways of improving physical appearance. The media is constantly bombarded with talks of rhinoplasty, tummy tucks, breast augmentations, facelifts, Botox, and more. In the past, Orlando cosmetic surgery was a privilege considered only for the rich and famous. It was seen as quite controversial and ostentatious, and wasn’t pursued by people outside of the entertainment industry. However, this is no longer the case. Aside from growing in popularity, cosmetic procedures have also become more affordable and accessible. Although cosmetic procedures are not generally covered by insurance, many plastic surgery centers offer affordable payment plans or financial assistance. Cosmetic surgery can be performed in a medical center or private office location, with the number of locations that offer procedures growing every day. However, the increase in number of cosmetic surgery centers may allow customers to become confused or easily manipulated. It is extremely important to go to a knowledgeable, experienced cosmetic surgeon for all procedures.

There Has Been a 37% Increase in Breast Augmentations in the Last 10 Years

Dr Richard Arabitg - Wednesday, May 28, 2014

Breast augmentation is an Orlando cosmetic surgery involving enlargement and shaping of the breasts, through insertion of saline solution or silicone gel implants. At Plastic Surgery Central Florida, we know that women may decide to undergo a breast augmentation procedure for many reasons, but the result is always a remarkable improvement in self-confidence and self-esteem. Studies indicate that after an augmentation, women report enhancements in physical health, appearance, social life, and sexual function. Additionally, they reported lasting happiness with their breast implants. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, breast augmentation is the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery today. With over 290,000 women receiving implants per year, there has been a 37% increase in the last ten years.

The most frequent grounds for pursuing augmentation are for aesthetic reasons, reconstruction, or revision of previous cosmetic surgeries. When breast augmentations are pursued for reconstructive purposes, they are highly effective for correcting abnormalities, as a result of trauma, disease, or genetics. Implants can even improve one’s appearance after injuries, and surgeries such as mastectomies. When pursued for aesthetic or revision purposes, breast augmentations can be the best way to improve self-confidence and satisfaction with one’s body. After an unsatisfactory cosmetic or reconstructive procedure, breast augmentation can fix any previously unsatisfactory results. Aesthetically, breast augmentation results in dramatically improved feelings of satisfaction with one’s appearance and body.

Breast Augmentations

Dr Richard Arabitg - Thursday, April 10, 2014

Breast augmentations have not been seen as taboo for many years, and are now more popular than ever. Women can pursue this procedure easily and conveniently, with a plethora of options available to them regarding size, shape, composition and more. There are a wide range of surgery centers and doctors to choose from, which can be confusing and overwhelming at times. With all the information available online, or in the media, people searching for answers may not ever find what they are looking for. Personalized care is crucial because each patient is unique. At Plastic Surgery Central Florida, Dr. Arabitg specializes in providing patients with safe and personalized care; he uses only high profile saline implants and emphasizes patient education above all else. Saline implants are composed of an FDA-approved sterile solution of salt water.  This solution is similar to one found naturally in the human body; therefore, saline implants result in a more realistic appearance. If ruptured, saline can be naturally absorbed by the body, and then expelled. It's not harmful for the body, which is why many surgeons rely on high profile saline implants as their first choice. Implants can either be placed under the breast tissue, above the major muscle of the chest, or under the major muscle of the chest. Each placement will result in a slightly different appearance. These options can all be fully discussed in a consultation with Dr. Arabitg.
