The Benefits of a Facelift are Unbeatable

Dr Richard Arabitg - Tuesday, June 23, 2015

Facelifts can defy gravity, lifting your skin and improving elasticity without wasting money and time on countless drugstore creams that just don’t do the trick. With a one-time procedure and a relatively short recovery time, you can achieve the results you want with ease.  Facial Cosmetic Surgery in Orlando can tighten skin that is loose and saggy, along with the muscle underneath, eliminate fat in the neck and face, creating natural tightness and elasticity, create a fresh-faced, youthful appearance, and target specific problem areas to give you the results you want. The incisions from a facelift are strategically placed under the hairline, so that they will remain hidden. The results of a facelift can last a lifetime, giving permanent results in many cases. Because the procedure can be customized to your desires, your plastic surgeon will work with you to develop a plan that gives you the results you want. Whether you’re looking to tighten your skin, defy gravity, or remove wrinkles, your plastic surgeon can help you customize a facelift to your needs. If you are in good physical and mental health, have a healthy bone structure, don’t smoke, and can commit to the necessary recovery time, you may be a good candidate for a facelift. The benefits of a facelift are unbeatable, restoring your youthful glow after just one easy procedure. Talk to your plastic surgeon about your options, and your eligibility as a candidate to experience the positive effects of a facelift.

What to Expect Going into Your Cosmetic Surgery Procedure

Dr Richard Arabitg - Tuesday, June 02, 2015

Every cosmetic surgery procedure requires consulting a surgeon to discuss the process.  During the consultation, you may be asked to take certain medications, get lab tests, avoid taking anti-inflammatory drugs, and to stop smoking. It is recommended that someone drive you to and from the surgery and stays with you the first night.  Orlando cosmetic surgery can be performed in a hospital, accredited surgical facility, or a surgical center. If you are having a surgery performed for non-cosmetic reasons, such as a deviated septum, it is possible to have it covered by health insurance.

On the day of your procedure, you will start out by being put under anesthesia. Your surgeon will recommend either general anesthesia or intravenous sedation depending on the procedure and other factors. For example, rhinoplasty can either be an open or closed procedure, and that determines on where the cosmetic surgeon will be making the incision. They will then either reshape the nose or correct the deviated septum depending on what needs to be done and the desired results you're looking for. Once that is complete, they will then close the incision.  Splints and gauze will be used to wrap the nose up, and those will have to stay in for a few days to assist the healing process.

The healing process is crucial when it comes to rhinoplasty or any cosmetic surgery for that matter. Swelling will go down after a few weeks, but it is possible for it to take a year for the nose to fully shape properly. It is common to see changes in the appearance of your nose throughout that first year. A surgeon will give specific instructions to each patient depending on the surgery and how well you're healing. In the end, the results will be outstanding and you will have the self-confidence that you've been longing for!

Calf Implants

Dr Richard Arabitg - Sunday, May 17, 2015

Before a calf augmentation procedure, your legs will be measured in order to get an appropriately sized implant. The procedure can be done under general anesthesia or sedation anesthesia. The incision is made behind the knee, as this prevents obvious scarring, which will just appear as normal creasing within that area. The implant is placed between the connective tissue and the gastrocnemius muscle, or within the muscle. When placed between the muscle and fascia, the procedure is less invasive and has a faster recovery. However, the implant may warp in shape, or rotate in an undesirable way. Placing the implant within the muscle can produce more natural-looking results, and may have less surgical complications.  Although, the procedure is much more difficult and has a longer healing time. Once the placement is finalized, the incision is closed up for recovery. The final results are visible within a few months, as the implants settle and the bruising and swelling fades. More than one implant may be placed in the lower leg during surgery, depending on the desired results. Calf implants are available in solid silicone or silicone gel, depending on the surgeon’s preferences and the desired results. Your Orlando plastic surgeon can discuss the pros and cons of each type of implant to make sure that you are choosing the best option for you, as well as help you understand any associated risks or side effects of the surgery. It is important to find a qualified, experienced plastic surgeon to perform a calf augmentation, so that you can achieve the results you want.

Are you Qualified for Rhinoplasty?

Dr Richard Arabitg - Tuesday, April 28, 2015

If an Orlando cosmetic surgeon believes that a patient is not medically or psychologically suited to a surgery, they may not carry out the procedure for preserving the health and safety of the patient. A total physical examination is also important, to make sure that the patient can withstand the effects of sedation, surgery, and recovery. An anesthesiologist can determine the safety of anesthesia use based on a patient’s lifestyle, health, and medical history. If you suffer from allergies to certain medications or anesthesias, if you have certain heart defects, if you smoke, if you are overweight, or if you are pregnant you may not be a candidate for surgery. It is important for surgeons to protect your health and safety above all else, so a full medical evaluation is necessary. It is also necessary to record the skin type, existing scars, and skin condition of the patient, along with the anatomical structures of the patient’s nose. A surgeon will take note of the angle at which the nose projects out from their face, the location and size of the nasal tissue and bone, the condition of the septum, the nasal valves, the nasal lining, the tip of the nose, and more. Sometimes, tests such as a mirror test or vasoconstriction exams can be performed to evaluate a patient before plastic surgery. The Cottle's maneuver can be performed to detect nasal valve disorders that will need to be corrected to encourage unobstructed breathing.

Orlando Breast Augmentation Procedures: The Basics You Need to Know

Women who have problems with their self-image may be tempted to instantly turn to a plastic surgeon who offers breast augmentation in Orlando, FL. However, undergoing breast augmentation is a decision that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Before you make your decision definite, you should know more about the process itself.

Are you qualified?

Breast augmentation surgery is a medical procedure like any other. In essence, it is the implantation of saline or silicone bags behind your existing breast tissue to enhance your chest’s size and appearance. Since it’s basically a medical procedure, you’d want to be in good health when you undergo it.

Plastic surgeons often use three criteria to check if you’re eligible for breast implants: 1) You should have good overall health and no medical issues; 2) You should be within 30 pounds of your optimal weight; and 3) You should have realistic expectations of the process. So, you can’t expect to have a supermodel body after breast augmentation if your original form was nowhere near it.

If you meet these requirements and are still keen on going through the procedure, you can go ahead and make the arrangements with your plastic surgeon.

What should you do to prepare for it?

Experienced Orlando plastic surgeons like Dr. Richard Arabitg can help you prepare for the surgery. The doctor will let you choose between a saline and a silicone implant, outlining their advantages and disadvantages. He will then describe the process and the surgical techniques he can use, including where the incision would be made and where the implant would be located. The location of the incision and implant will affect the final shape of your breasts, so it’s important to discuss it with the doctor.

What happens during the procedure?

On the day itself, the operation will be done either in the surgeon’s office or in a hospital. After putting you under general anesthesia, the surgeon will make an incision either under your breasts, under your arms, or around your nipples. The implant will be inserted in your pectoral muscles or above them. When that is done, the surgeon will close the incision with sutures or surgical tape. When you wake up, you’ll have an improved pair of breasts.

What should you do after the operation?

Just like in any surgery, you need time to recover. Initially, your breasts will be bandaged and have drainage tubes. To recover properly, you must wear a surgical bra for a few weeks and take it easy. If you feel any pain, over-the-counter painkillers should help. If the pain persists, let your surgeon check on you.

What is Body Contouring?

Dr Richard Arabitg - Thursday, March 26, 2015

Even after someone has lost a significant amount of weight, a person may still not feel completely satisfied with their appearance. Although he/she may be excited about their progress, they know that there are more steps that need to be taken to get to their ultimate goal.  They are unhappy with the sagging, loose skin left behind after the weight loss. If this sounds like you, you could be a candidate for body contouring. Don’t let loose or flabby skin make you feel self-conscious. With body contouring, your appearance after weight loss can be greatly enhanced. Body contouring can boost your confidence, quality of life, and attractiveness or sex appeal. Body contouring can also minimize the discomfort of excess skin, smooth out areas of the body that were stubborn to your fat loss, and allow you to be more active and toned!

Just Like Any Surgery, Liposuction has Minor Risks

Dr Richard Arabitg - Tuesday, March 10, 2015

The minor risks of Liposuction may include temporary swelling, soreness, bruising, scarring, or baggy skin. Other risks can include color changes to the skin, or uneven skin surface. More dangerous risks are extremely rare, and should be discussed with an Orlando plastic surgeon. Although liposuction is not a replacement for diet and exercise, it can eliminate stubborn pockets of fat that are making you feel insecure or uncomfortable with your body.

With the availability of new techniques and qualified surgeons, liposuction in Orlando is safer and easier than ever. The benefits of the procedure are achievable immediately following surgery, and are permanent when supplemented with good health and exercise regimens. The lack of necessity for general anesthesia makes the procedure more accessible to people with heart problems, obesity complications, and other health concerns. What is Endermologie?

Dr Richard Arabitg - Thursday, February 26, 2015

These days, losing weight and gaining a more youthful appearance is becoming easier to achieve. With a wide variety of diets, exercise methods, and even cosmetic surgery in Orlando, weight loss is more achievable than ever. However, diets and exercise may not always yield the fast and dramatic results that cosmetic surgery can create, and cosmetic surgery can result in high risks and painful side effects. People are always searching for a new way to reduce bulk and cellulite, without the hassle of diets and the risks of invasive surgeries. Cellulite, especially, is very stubborn and hard to get rid of. Cellulite appears as unsightly dimpling of the skin, typically around the areas of the thighs and rear. It is sometimes referred to as a “cottage cheese” look, and can appear even in people who are physically fit or in shape. Cellulite is not just a problem for people who are heavier or have a higher body fat percentage. It is not specific to any skin type, either. Because the appearance of cellulite may not diminish with weight loss, and cannot be rectified with liposuction, many people seek out other options to eliminate it.

Endermologie, a non-invasive technique for the reduction of the appearance of cellulite, was developed by French plastic surgeons, and then later patented in the United States. Endermologie involves the use of rollers, which are similar to a deep tissue massage, across areas of the skin with cellulite. During this roller application, suction is applied, redistributing the skin to remove the characteristic dimples of cellulite. This results in a much smoother appearance of the skin, after anywhere from fourteen to twenty- eight, forty-five minute treatments. Monthly treatments afterwards may be needed for maintenance, although are not required. The procedure is most effective on patients between the ages of 30 and 45, who are physically fit. Other practices, such as drinking eight or more glasses of water before the procedure, and continuing to regularly drink healthy amounts of water daily, may also benefit the patient and yield greater results.

Dr. Arabitg is a Trained Medical Expert in BOTOX Cosmetic

Dr Richard Arabitg - Wednesday, February 11, 2015

BOTOX Cosmetic treatments allow you to continue to show expression after being administered, when performed correctly. Dr. Arabitg is a licensed, trained medical expert and is very careful with the treatments. BOTOX Cosmetic treatments are not painful—most patients express the injection feels like a pinch at most. There are options to numb the injection area if you are concerned about any discomfort you may experience.

Once the BOTOX Cosmetic treatment is administered, results can be seen as quickly as 24 to 48 hours, but may take up to 30 days to see the maximum effect. BOTOX Cosmetic treatments can be used on both men and women. It is important to remember that BOTOX Cosmetic is not a permanent treatment for frown lines and crow’s feet. These wrinkles will gradually reappear and look just like they did before the treatment. If you wish to continue treatment, we recommend you schedule an appointment with Dr. Arabitg to plan your course of treatment.
